Our mission is to generate compelling investment ideas for our institutional clients. We concentrate on the small-to-mid cap arena because it’s the least efficient, least analyzed and most misunderstood part of the equity market. We strive to articulate a differentiated investment viewpoint on the stocks we choose to cover. Differentiation can take many forms including our view on the business outlook, earnings forecast, how we value the company, or in some cases, filling a void where there is no other research coverage.
Our 24 senior and associate analysts maintain a comparatively low ratio of companies per analyst, more evidence of the research intensity and “high touch” we bring to our universe. We are organized around broad sectors – technology, healthcare, services, consumer – but the boundaries are elastic when we find good investment ideas outside those areas. Our analysts generally create several mini-universes because it allows them to focus attention on what they believe are the best ideas instead of being bound to cover all the companies within one strict industry vertical.
Each year Craig-Hallum hosts a major conference where institutional investors can meet one-on-one with many of the management teams in our coverage universe, and judge for themselves.
